WRITER’S WEEKEND RETREAT "SAME TIME, NEXT YEAR" - 2010 April 23, 24, and 25, 2010 Due to the success of this retreat in 2009, WRA returns to The Beacon House for another beautiful weekend devoted to the writer and her creative journey. Writer, Cindy Sheward of Clinton, NJ, wrote about her experience on the last day of the 2009 retreat:
Gratitude spills from my heart Like bright shells at the tide line. Gratitude for the bright bluesy challenge of using strange words in new context. Gratitude for this flock of assembled female creativity in Spring green writing of spirit Bright red writing of soul pain Deep blue writing of peace. Gratitude for a summer's day that's stolen into April- Air soft as a sigh Scented with salt, grass and bird song. Gratitude for still being here, heart beating, mind reaching, mouth rambling Within this nearly-divine human fellowship.

One Saturday a month will be devoted to those engaged in a work-in-progress. Whether you are writing a novel, poetry chapbook, memoir, or non-fiction, a group limited to 10 writers will listen and offer feedback. Come away from your desk and allow your work to be heard by "new ears." Present a question or writing dilemma and leave with a fresh approach. Unsure about character or plot development?
